Blob Makin

NPC

Core Role: Reluctant figurehead of the Blobfish Empire, a sprawling extended family of deflated blobfish that serve as the game's main trampoline bounce pads.

Design & Profile

Appearance

  • A huge, heavily deflated blobfish, much larger and more expressive than the stationary blobfish pads scattered around the world.
  • Wears a permanent grumpy scowl and barely moves unless someone talks to him.

Personality

  • Put-upon and cynical; every conversation gets treated as a personal inconvenience.
  • Helps anyway. He takes the ancestral role seriously, he just refuses to look happy about it.
  • Full of strong opinions nobody asked for.

Gameplay & Narrative Function

  • Diegetic Tutorial: Introduces the trampoline/bounce mechanics in-world.
  • Focal Point NPC: The narrative anchor for physics-heavy platforming zones.
  • Comic Relief: Short, deadpan tutorial callouts that cut against the high-energy gameplay.
  • Prophecy Bearer: Has kept the Mystical Shell safe for generations, on instructions from the Elder Turtle.

Hub Home: The Jello Dome

  • Exterior: A big squishy, semi-deflated bubble structure sitting in a shallow pool at the bottom of the waterfall. It jiggles whenever he speaks. Bouncing blobfish minions everywhere.
  • Interior: Soft floors, cushions shaped like smaller fish, and a scatter of floating debris and shiny trinkets washed down from the waterfall basin.

Relationships

  • NPC - Hootsworth: Tolerates the hat-selling nearby; does not care about fashion.
  • NPC - Mortimer Mole: Finds the constant academic documentation tedious, though the mole's attempts to catalogue his family tree occasionally amuse him.
  • NPC - Sergeant Sky: Respects the rank, but is too lazy to cooperate with physical demands unless forced.
  • The Elder Turtle: The one authority he never complains about.
  • Character - Koopa: Reliable bounce support for the turtle, though deeply unamused by his weight.
  • Character - Kiko: Mildly irritating, occasionally entertaining.
